Standard sustainable TPE grades
Wittenburgs standard range of sustainable TPE grades are the Cawiton® SM, SF and ST series which are offered in different hardness’s ranging from 40 to 80 Shore A. These new Cawiton series of biobased TPE compounds contribute to the replacement of virgin fossil resources by recycled circular and/or biobased renewable resources. All materials are suitable for injection moulding and profile extrusion.
The Cawiton SM and SF series of sustainable TPE compounds can include up to 51% ISCC PLUS certified material. Our sustainable compounds can contain up to 53% of additional biobased content. All these renewable thermoplastic compounds can be used for typical medical and food-contact applications like medical devices, pharmaceutical packaging and oral & baby health care solutions.
Our quality systems ensure that the design and supply of our sustainable products comply with the demands of the medical, pharmaceutical, drinking water and food contact industry. On request medical and/or food statements are available.
For the Cawiton® SM and SF series, the following sterilization methods can be used: Ethylene Oxide, Steam (121°C or 134°C) and radiation (< 5 MRad). Carbon footprint declarations can be provided upon request.

1 mass balance approach
Our technical Cawiton® ST series is based on circular resources like post-consumer recyclates (polyolefins and fillers). Our products have an excellent compression set and are resistant to UV light and heat aging and are typically used in automotive, building and construction applications.
