Standard medical TPE grades

The standard medical range of our medical TPE grades is the Cawiton® MT series which is offered in different hardnesses ranging from 10 to 90 Shore A.
The material is translucent; this means transparent but with a haze.

Cawiton® MT products can be processed as follows:

-All grades can be injection moulded;
-20 Shore A and harder can be extruded as tubing and profiles;
-50 Shore A and harder can be extruded as cast film.

For other ways of processing, custom grades are available.

Masterbatches are available to increase the ease of moulding (mould release agent) and to increase the UV resistance (for outdoor applications, for example hearing aids).

The Cawiton® MT series was developed with a focus on biocompatibility. When used in medical devices, undesired reactions such as inflammation, irritation, coagulation and calcification are minimised. The Cawiton® MT series has been tested according to ISO 10993 with regard to cytotoxicity, irritation and sensitisation.
